Chiller Cooling System

What Is Chiller ?

It is the main cooler system equipment which consists of the volume of condenser and evaporator. Working in parallel with building’s automation, it switches on and off with the cooling load requirement. It has both manual and automatic commissioning options as summer and winter. There are applications where the condenser volume is also placed on the designed roof or the manufacturing of the equipment used directly on the surfaces. Its volume varies according to the building cooling requirement. In the place where it is located, it is necessary to make a reinforced concrete ‘floating’ pedestal on the volume where the feet will be stepped on.

To mention the system, there is a sump that turns the water in chiller. Feeding is taken from this pump group to the delivery collector (pumps) to the main system. Cold water is pumped into the system. Chilled water goes to ‘fan-coil’ devices at the end of the line. While fan-coil devices are cooling the site, cooled water warms relatively and turns back to chiller system. The water returning to the return collector is also brought to the chiller circuit by a by-pass line and is cooled again.

The difference between warmed and cooled water, depending on the operating temperature of system, is 7 or 12 degrees for instance.

Chiller devices are refrigeration units that is used for cooling all equipment and equipment that needs cooling for industrial purposes and constitutes the world
standard in this field.
Chiller devices are divided into two main groups;

1. Air Cooled Chiller Devices
2. Water Cooled Chiller Devices

1. Air cooled chillers are devices that cool the condenser with air. By the fans on itself, it cools the refrigerant flowing through the condenser.

Those are whether piston or scroll type compressors have high cooling capacity. With its independent single or double cooling system, there is a wide condenser surface to provide the expected external temperature.

Compressor is protected by water pumps, fans, and thermic and circuit breaker plugs. Non-ozone-harming 407C refrigerant gas is used. Automatic stop and start of fans and compressors are controlled by digital thermostats or microprocessors.

Units are protected against voltage irregularity (+/- 15%) and phase deficiency. There are high- and low-pressure switches for refrigerants gases, water temperature and all alarm parameters give visual or aural warning in models with microprocess.

It has resistant ant high-capacity centrifugal pomp, water tank is made of stainless steel and insulated. Galvanized steel body is painted by hot baked powder polyester and and also it has an air filter that can be cleaned easily.

General Features of Air Cooled Chillers

Area of Use : Plastic injection machines, steel injection machines, extensions, pipe, cable systems, coating baths, shocking systems (Slipper Industry), shoe holeindustry, closed circuit air conditioner (hotels, hospitals etc.), closed circuit industrial systems (plants etc.), press industry, pasteurized industry, textile and fiber industry, pharmaceutical industry.

Compressor : We use hermetic, semi-hermetic, and screw compressors in our devices. They have they have crankcase heater and protective relays. Gas system is
protected against breakage with vibration absorbers. They can be used for long years safe and sound.

Cooling Components : It provides system to work safe and regularly. Those are expansion valve, digital thermostat, low-high pressure pressurestat, manometer, valve, drier and so on.

Condensers : Copper pipe has aluminum fins. It feeds the evaporator by liquefying the freon gas through its silent axial fans.

Evaporator : Heat exchanger keeps the water in desired temperature by vaporizing the freon gas.

Electric Cable : It is placed on the device. It ensures the system works fully automatic and safe.

Water Tank : Where the water is stored. Heat exchange with external environment is prevented by insulation with rubber.

General Features of Water Cooled Chillers

 

Water cooled chillers are devices that cool the condensers with water. Water cooled chillers have tower fans; the water that took the temperature of the gas which is heated in pipe of condenser unit cools down in the tower.

 Are of Use : It is ideal for molds and hydraulic grease of injection and upsetting machines, extruders, hot forming molds, polishing machines, metal working bench, and various cooling applications. With its compact design, high performance and small volume, it can be applicable in narrow areas.

Compressor : It can work combined from 1 to 4 compressors in a single system. According to their capacity, scroll or hermetic type of cooling compressors are used in our devices. In case of malfunction, compressors are repaired in our own maintenance shop.

Condenser : The water-cooled condensers used in units are with copper pipes and integral finned type.

Evaporator :  Shell & Tube chillers are manufactured as a U-pin copper pipe bundle in an iron pipe. Detachable pipe bundle allows evaporator to be cleaned easily.
With regular maintenance, life of device is extended.

Microprocessor : The microprocessor in the devices can track the movements such as working temperature, working hours of the pump on the device, order of working and stopping, malfunction alert and so on.

Circuit Components : To make the cooling system work safely, there are drier-filter, sight glass, expansion valve, solenoid valve, combined pressurestat, water flow control valve, and water and air discharge valve.
